Eberhard & Co. Celebrates 20 Years of the”Chrono 4″ With Their New Collection edition “21-42”

Many years of innovation and success – Eberhard & Co. celebrates the 20th anniversary of its revolutionary chronograph: the “Chrono 4”.

The “Chrono 4”: Two Decades of Excellence

The story of one of the most original Swiss chronographs the industry has ever produced began at the turn of the millennium. The birth of this fascinating model was in 2001, and over the years it has been continually improved and pushed to ever greater levels of excellence. 20 years after its first launch, Eberhard & Co. are opening a fresh chapter with their “Chrono 4” watch, and 2021 marks the beginning of a new phase in the life of this iconic model. With a new collection edition named “21-42”, attractive timepieces are presented that again confirms that some things are timeless in their beauty. The chosen numbers of the line recall both the year of launch and the case-size and are symbolically embossed on the caseback of each model in the collection.

A Watch With Notable Features

Eberhard & Co. created the “Chrono 4” to update timekeeping while enhancing the traditional values of bespoke watchmaking. The “Chrono 4” is the first and only chronograph in the history of the industry whose counters are arranged in a row. It is a true innovation, both aesthetically and functionally, and also a revolution from a technical standpoint. As the counters are grouped together, it fundamentally makes it much easier to determine the readings. First, find the minutes elapsed since the beginning of the timekeeping, then hours, the 24 hours and the small seconds, all in a very spontaneous, logical, linear sequence.

Chrono 4 “21-42”

Having mentioned the strengths of the “Chrono 4” model that make it so special, now let’s explore the specific features of the new “21-42” line in detail.

• Movement: Calibre EB. 251 12 ½” – basis ETA 2894-2. Mechanical chronograph with automatic winding. Patented by Eberhard & Co. with 4 counters arranged in a row: minutes, hours, 24 hours and small seconds. Date at 12 o’clock. The whole mechanism works with 53 rubies
• Case: steel, satin finish
• Diameter: 42.00 mm
• Case-back: fixed with 8 screws, with a central medallion in low relief with a sandblasted finish, personalised with the 21-42 logo
• Bezel: in ceramic, with tachometer scale on the base/1000 or in polished steel
• Water resistance: 50 m
• Crown: screw-down, water-resistant, personalised with a pyramid motif in relief
• Crystal: sapphire crystal, flat, with an anti-reflective treatment on the inside

Dials with Ceramic Bezel:

• Grey – 4 grey counters with polished finish and profile. Central area with Clous de Paris finish, Chrono 4 logo, luminescent indices. Peripheral area with polished finish and minute scale with 1/5th of a second. Date and 12 o’clock position with applied profile.
• Black – 4 black counters with polished finish and polished applied profile. Central area with Clous de Paris finish, Chrono 4 logo, luminescent indices. Peripheral area with nailed finish and minute scale with 1/5th of a second. Date and 12 o’clock position with applied profile.
• Silver – 4 black counters with polished finish and polished applied profile. Central area with Clous de Paris finish, Chrono 4 logo, luminescent indices. Peripheral area with nailed finish and minute scale with 1/5th of a second. Date and 12 o’clock position with applied profile.

With Polished Steel Bezel:

• Silver – 4 black counters, with polished finish and polished profile. Central area with soleil finish. Applied luminous indices. Speedometer scale on base/1000th date and 12 o’clock position with applied profile.
• Grey – 4 grey counters, with polished finish and polished applied profile. Central area with soleil finish. Applied luminous indices. Speedometer scale on base/1000. Date and 12 o’clock position with applied profile.

Hands: sword-shaped skeleton hands, hours and minutes, with luminous dots.

Bracelet: rubber or alligator leather, with steel buckle, personalised “E&C” or steel Chaque (optional: Déclic® folding clasp – patented).
