2020 saw the reorganisation and rebirth of beloved (and quirky!) French watch brand, Klokers. With a new team, the return of Artistic Director Nicholas Boutherin, and a swathe of exciting new models, designed in France and built-in Switzerland by Mercier.
Each piece, a beautifully balanced cocktail of French elegance and Swiss horological know-how, that can be displayed however you choose thanks to Klokers unique fixing system and extensive range of straps, holders, stands and clips.
Launched in 2015, the KLOK-01 owes its unique dial structure to an instrument more commonly found on engineering workbenches – the circular slide rule.
Taking inspiration from the clarity of design found in these 17th Century instruments, the Klok-01 utilises three rotating coplaner disks and a fixed magnifying lens to tell the time.
The disks gently rotate counterclockwise, under the power of a Swiss Rhonda Quartz movement, and as we started to write this sentence, the Klok-01 Black Reflex 44 Minimal on my wrist was displaying 3 on the outer disc, 15 on the middle disk, and 10 on the central disk – making the time 3:15 and 10 seconds. Ingeniously simple and incredibly elegant.
Whilst the original concept took its inspiration from a piece of 400 year old technology, the new Klokers Klok-01 Black Reflex 44 Minimal can trace its styling roots to high-end film cameras of the 1920s, made by the likes of Rollei, Minolta and Zeiss.
Encased in satin black PVD coated steel, this 44mm piece is literally all dial, and thanks to the slightly domed polymer crystal with its built-in magnifying lens, you can tell the time at a glance.
Supplied on a choice of straps and bracelets, the Klok-01 Black Reflex 44 Minimal is infinitely customisable thanks to the Klokers Key, a patented fastening system that makes it easy for you to mount your Klokers watch head to any of the compatible straps, bracelets, holders, or stands on offer.
Stand out from the crowd with the New Klokers Klok-01 Black Reflex 44 Minimal, available now from Montredo.
