Introducing the New MeisterSinger Primatic

The simple single-hander gains a powerful complication.

A Perfect Balance

Here at Montredo we’re big fans of the single-hand watches produced by German watchmaker MeisterSinger, and having previously picked out their Lunascope as one of our favourite moonphase watches, we were excited to learn that the Münster-based brand was adding a new complication to their collections: the power reserve indicator.

Launched today, the brand-new 41.5mm Primatic maintains the perfect balance that we have come to expect from MeisterSinger – with the large needle hand marking off the time in 5-minute segments, a subtle date aperture at 3 o’clock, and a scaled-down version of the hour hand at 6 which shows you how much power is currently being held in the watch’s mainspring.

At full wind, the MeisterSinger Primatic’s Swiss-made Sellita SW270 automatic movement gives you 38 hours of power, which through normal wear is wound through the motion of your wrist. However, should the power reserve indicator start to dip into the red you can top the “tank” back up with a few turns of the crown.

Available in 4 Configurations

As with all MeisterSinger watches, the white printed 144 segment track that skirts the edge of the dial denotes the passing of time in 5 minute units; the slightly larger markers show the quarter and half hour, and long markers capped with double digits display the hours. However, where the Primatic truly stands alone, is in the introduction of a bevelled chapter ring around the outer edge of the dial, where the hours are indicated by dots and dashes, and printed Arabic numerals mark each half hour. 

Available in 4 configurations at launch, you can choose from the traditional MeisterSinger colours of ivory or black with contrasting cognac-coloured accents that continue into their vegan leather straps, or the stunning medium blue or petrol green sun-brushed dials that are paired with vintage leather straps.
