Introducing the Tonino Lamborghini Spyderleggero

As iconic Italian lifestyle brand Tonino Lamborghini celebrates 40 years of design and innovation, we take a look at their top of the range titanium cased, Swiss-made Spyderleggero collection.

An Evolution of the Iconic Spyder

Since the foundation of his company in 1981, Tonino Lamborghini has been developing timepieces that combine cutting edge designs, and innovative materials with the Lamborghini family’s DNA and heritage.

For the last Swiss-made watches collection, Ferruccio Lamborghini, CEO and vice president of the company who also represents the third generation of the Lamborghini family reinterpreted elements of two iconic timepieces from the brand’s history – the bestselling 2008 Spyder, a timepiece inspired by the shield of the brand’s emblem that encloses the Miura raging bull, and the Cuscinetto, a heritage model first released in 1983 – to create a new range of highly engineered, Swiss-made timepieces.

An evolution of the iconic Spyder case, the Tonino Lamborghini Spyderleggero is both lighter on the wrist, and even more comfortable to wear thanks to its ergonomically designed titanium and aluminium sandwich case, which is kept firmly clamped together by eight visible Torx® screws.

Spyderleggero Skeleton

Sandwiched between three pieces of sapphire glass, and encased in titanium and anticorodal, is the heart of the Spyderleggero Skeleton – the Swiss made automatic Sellita SW200-1 – a robust ruthenium plated calibre which beats at 28,000 vibrations per hour, has a 38 hour power reserve and features a skeletonised Tonino Lamborghini rotor.

The central piece of sapphire glass is printed with luminescent indices, an applied Tonino Lamborghini shield at 12 o’clock, and topped out by a set of lume tipped skeletonised hour and minute hands, and contrasting coloured sweep second hand.

This 51,50 mm by 46 mm timepiece is available in 5 bold colour combinations, and comes fitted to a complementary leather and rubber strap with contrasting stitching, and a stainless steel deployant clasp covered in titanium.

Spyderleggero Chrono

Sharing its design cues and case aesthetic with the Spyderleggero Skeleton, the Spyderleggero Chrono is arguably a more complex beast. This twin register automatic chronograph, with time and date function is powered by the Swiss made Sellita SW500 BVa a – which beats at 28,000 vibrations per hour, has a 48 hour power reserve.

The black dial, with its côte de Genéve pattern, applied Tonino Lamborghini shield, and printed with luminescent indices, is subtly enhanced with the hour-glass shaped sub registers, silently marking the passage of minutes into hours.This 51,50 mm by 46 mm timepiece is available in 5 bold colour combinations, that feature contrasting details across dials, cases, and hands. The Spyderleggero Chrono is supplied with both a crocodile print leather strap and a rubber strap with suede inserts and complimented by a stainless steel deployment clasp.
