In 2018, under protest, Seiko discontinued their popular reference SARB017, with its deep green dial and golden hands and indices, known by its numerous fans as the Alpinist.
Perhaps because of their sentiment, it was announced last year that a new Alpinist would be released, this time not only as a JDM (Japan Domestic Model, only for the local market) but now worldwide as well! The SPB121J1 (green / gold dial with brown calfskin strap in a crocodile pattern) is now available from the first jewelers for a slightly higher price of € 719
Her 3 sisters – SPB117J1 (black dial with metal bracelet, RRP € 739), SPB119J1 (beige dial with black calfskin strap, RRP € 719) and SPB123J1 (beige dial with golden hands and indices, green calfskin strap, RRP € 719) – are now also slowly beginning to appear in display cases.
