Scafograf – The Legendary Diving Watch by Eberhard & Co.
Some watches are made to look the part. Others are made to perform – even in the most demanding environments the world has to offer. The Scafograf by Eberhard & Co. belongs without reservation to the second category. First presented in 1959, it was conceived from the outset as a professional instrument for divers: robust, reliable and perfectly legible even in the darkness of the deep, where visibility becomes the true challenge.
What has distinguished the Scafograf from the very beginning are its clear design codes: the distinctive unidirectional rotating bezel for measuring dive time, the dial with contrasting elements and maximally legible indices, the triangular tip of the hour hand for instant orientation beneath the surface, and a case engineered to withstand exceptional loads. These elements, originally chosen for purely functional reasons, today form the DNA of one of the most compelling families of sports watches in Swiss watchmaking.

The current Scafograf collection offers a model for every requirement. The Scafograf 300, water-resistant to 300 metres, is the most powerful expression of the line and sets a benchmark for robustness and design. The Scafograf 300 MCMLIX – MCMLIX being the Roman numeral for 1959 – is a considered reinterpretation of the original, combining historical aesthetics with contemporary watchmaking technology. The Scafograf GMT addresses the traveller, with a second time zone integrated directly into the dial. The compact Scafograf 100 completes the family as an entry-level model that makes no concessions on style.
The new SCAFOGRAF 200 MCMLIX, presented in 2026, enriches the collection while preserving its professional diving vocation within a compact 39 mm case, enhanced by a dial with strong visual impact. This new model is the result of an in‑depth exploration of the Maison’s archives and reaffirms an identity that remains faithful to its origins while evolving with coherence.
Available with a black or blue dial - each offered either in a matt dégradé finish or in a matt version with a silver‑toned minute track featuring circular satin finishing—the model retains the helium escape valve at 9 o’clock, a feature that further underscores its nature as a true diving watch. The polished stainless‑steel Milanese mesh bracelet, an absolute first for the Maison, reinterprets the watch’s vintage spirit with contemporary elegance, combining lightness and comfort with the security of the 2CLICK® deployant clasp, which prevents accidental opening.
One of the most celebrated chapter in the Scafograf’s history was written in 2016: the Scafograf 300 received the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in the ‘Sports Watch’ category – the Oscar of watchmaking. This distinction confirmed what connoisseurs and divers had long known: the Scafograf is not merely a beautiful watch, but a watch that has proved its class.
