Refund policy

  1. Scope

This Return & Refund Policy applies to purchases made through the online store of Montredo GmbH (“Montredo”, “we”, “us”). For business customers (B2B), different rules may apply; consumer withdrawal rights apply only to consumers.

  1. 14-day right of withdrawal / return (consumers)

If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party nominated by you (who is not the carrier), takes possession of the goods.

  1. How to exercise the withdrawal

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement (e.g., email). You may contact us at:

  1. Return process (please contact us first)

Because watches are high-value items, please contact us before sending any return so we can:

  • provide you with our return instructions, and
  • provide you with a Montredo return shipping label where applicable.
  1. Return shipping costs

For returns made under the statutory withdrawal right, Montredo bears the regular costs of return shipping, provided that you use the return option offered by Montredo (in particular the shipping label provided by Montredo) and follow our return instructions.

If you choose a different return method than the return option offered by Montredo, you bear any additional costs.

  1. Insurance / transport risk (important)

High-value watches must be returned using the shipping label provided by Montredo and in accordance with our return instructions.

If you do not use the Montredo return shipping label and/or you deviate from our return instructions, the return shipment is not insured via Montredo. In that case, you bear the risk of loss of and damage to the watch during return transport as well as any costs resulting therefrom.

  1. Condition of returns / inspection

Returned items must be sent back in the same condition and scope as sold, including all items originally included in the delivery (e.g., watch, box, papers, accessories, spare links, tags, manuals, and any other items included).

We inspect every return upon receipt. We document shipments and returns (e.g., serial numbers, condition documentation, and security measures such as tamper seals). We may refuse returns or reduce refunds if:

  • tamper/security seals are removed or damaged,
  • the watch shows signs of wear, damage, or alteration,
  • parts of the delivery scope are missing.
  1. Deductions for diminished value / damages

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

If the watch is returned in a worse condition than when shipped, we may claim compensation and/or deduct an appropriate amount from the refund to the extent permitted by law (e.g., for damage, missing items, or excessive use).

  1. Refunds (amount, method, timing)

If you withdraw from the contract, we will refund all payments we received from you, including delivery costs, except for any additional delivery costs resulting from you choosing a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us.

Refunds are made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise. Optionally, we may offer store credit if you prefer.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you have provided evidence that you have sent back the goods, whichever is earlier.

We aim to process refunds within 20 days after we receive and inspect the returned goods. The time it takes for the funds to appear in your account may vary depending on the payment provider.

  1. Returns from outside the EU (customs, duties, taxes)

If you return goods from outside the EU, customs procedures may apply. Import duties, taxes, and fees paid to authorities are generally non-refundable by us and may need to be claimed (if possible) from the relevant authority. Returns are otherwise handled in accordance with this policy.

  1. Business customers (B2B)

If you purchase as a business customer, statutory consumer withdrawal rights do not apply. Returns and refunds are handled only by individual agreement, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
