World time questions
Between roughly 9 pm and 3 am the date mechanism is already engaged. Forcing the quick-set then can damage the date disc, a repair that means opening the movement.
The safe way: turn the hands to about 6 o'clock, set the date to the day before, then turn the hands forward past midnight until the date flips. Now set the correct time. Your watch's manual has the final word on the exact window.
Leave the 24-hour hand on home time. On a "flyer" GMT, jump the local hour hand to the new zone while the watch keeps running. On a "caller" GMT, set the main hands to local time and move the GMT hand instead.
A GMT shows a second zone at a glance. A dual time shows home in hours and minutes on a subdial. A worldtimer shows every zone at once, for those who keep many places in mind.
Times come from your device clock and your browser's time zone database, so summer and winter time are handled for every city. Day and night are calculated from the sun's position at each city.
