In 2015 Panerai launched the Luminor Submersible 1950 CarboTech 3 Days Automatic PAM 616, their first watch with a Carbotech case. Building on the success of the innovative material, the Luminor collection has now been extended in the form of the new PAM1661 Luminor Marinain, which also enjoys the unique carbon fibers.

Carbotech, developed by Panerai itself, is a carbon fiber composite material which is very resistant to impacts and less susceptible to corrosion. The production of a PAM1661 Luminor Marina Carbotech results in a separate, visibly different form for each case, which contributes to the uniqueness of each individual watch. Despite the impressive diameter of 44mm, the watch is very comfortable, weighing in at only 96 grams – again thanks to Carbotech.

In addition to the innovative material, the “sandwich” dial of the PAM1661 Luminor Marina, with its blue Super-LumiNova markings, is particularly striking. On the dial there are central hour and minute hands, a small second display at the 9 o’clock position and a date display at the 3 o’clock position.
